Background

The problem

A newly fitted lecture theatre with many timber desks, a lectern and timber joinery releasing formaldehyde; high student density and long occupancy meant treatment had to be complete before term and stay effective.

Scope of work

What we did

Surveyed desks, joinery and walls; zoned plan
Formaldehyde-removal spray on each desk and all timber joinery
Nano photocatalyst over the whole room including walls and ceiling
Sealed reaction, ventilation, re-test and hand-over

Results

Results and value

Formaldehyde and TVOC within limits, timber odour gone; the nano film keeps purifying and suppressing bacteria for students and staff.
