Background

The problem

The tall statue stands fully exposed: dust settled on the figure and the stone plinth yellowed and blackened. With its complex form and height, cleaning depended on lifting equipment — costly and risky.

Scope of work

What we did

  1. Surveyed statue and plinth materials, weathering and access
  2. Small sample test for adhesion and stain resistance
  3. Cleaned and coated the statue and plinth zone by zone from a boom lift
  4. Two-layer system on the stone plinth: nano protective primer + self-cleaning top coat
  5. Waterproofing, stain-resistance and self-cleaning tests after cure
Results

Results and value

Rain now sheets off the statue and plinth and carries dust away while sunlight keeps breaking down organic grime; the plinth’s internal barrier stops water absorption and efflorescence, keeping the memorial dignified and clean.
